Study: Netbook sales to surpass 32 million this year
Low prices and improved hardware are expected to drive an increase in netbook sales this year, according to research firm DisplaySearch, which this week predicted that sales of the devices will double in 2009 to 32.7 million. Mainstream laptop shipments, on the other hand, are expected to remain flat at about 129.5 million as netbooks continue to eat away at the overall PC market.
