Scripps Wins Travel Channel Deal
Scripps Networks Interactive has emerged the winner in bidding for Cox Communications' Travel Channel in a deal valued at $975 million, reports the Wall Street Journal. Cox, which picked up the channel in a trade with Discovery Communications, will retain a 35% stake in the new joint venture. Scripps delayed its third-quarter earnings report until today and plans to answer analysts' questions about the deal.
