Women hold half the jobs, but fall short in top spots

Women may soon become the majority in the workforce for the first time. However, women account for only 18% of the top leadership roles in 10 sectors of the economy and earn only 78.7 cents to every dollar earned by a man, according to a report from The White House Project. Where women once worked because they wanted to, "now, she's working because she has to," says Arlie Hochschild, a professor at the University of California, Berkeley.
