Farmers Insurance Team Joins March of Dimes WalkAmerica to Fight Prematurity in Des Moines

DES MOINES, Iowa-- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Representing Farmers Insurance Group®, a national sponsor of the March of Dimes, Farmers Insurance agents, district managers and employees will walk for healthy babies in the 2007 March of Dimes WalkAmerica. The walk will be held in Des Moines at Raccoon River Park, starting at 9:15 a.m.
“This will make the 8th year we have participated in WalkAmerica in Des Moines, and we are hoping that this year’s walk will be the biggest ever,” said Rory Loebig, State Executive Director of Farmers Iowa. “The Farmers family walks to raise money to support the March of Dimes in its commitment to eliminating the causes of premature births. Today, one in eight babies is born prematurely and the dollars raised, go to help every one of them,” Loebig continued.
Farmers Insurance Group is one of the top contributors to the March of Dimes, raising more than $3.2 million dollars in 2006. Farmers Insurance is also proud to announce it is the exclusive national sponsor of the Family Support Program in neonatal intensive care units in hospitals nationwide, where the March of Dimes supplies needed comfort and information to families during the stressful first days of their babies’ lives.
