BOLIVAR, Mo.-- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Duck Creek Technologies, Inc., a provider of rating and policy administration solutions for the insurance industry, today announced that Honolulu based, Island Insurance Companies has chosen Duck Creek’s Commercial Lines Rating Solution. The Duck Creek solution is built on the EXAMPLE Platform® and will be implemented as a best-of-breed rating solution. The selection of Duck Creek’s EXAMPLE Platform is an integral component to Island Insurance’s commitment to a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).

With implementation currently underway the Duck Creek solution will be used to rate Island’s commercial product lines, including workman’s compensation and general liability. A key factor in the company’s selection of Duck Creek was a combination of the system’s SOA architecture and its ability to fit well with the insurer’s best-of-breed strategy.

With its configuration and rules-engine approach, the Duck Creek solution will enable Island Insurance to be self-sufficient, requiring minimal long term support from Duck Creek for ongoing product changes, and the development and deployment of new products. Island Insurance is implementing in multiple phases with a goal of converting all lines of business to the new rating solution.
