"I got it on eBay" is barreling its way into the lexicon of the new millennium and placing a cyber-grin on the corporate face of online auctioneer extraordinaire eBay. The company offers an online forum for selling merchandise -- from fine antiques to the latest video games -- hosting about 500,000 e-stores worldwide. eBay, which generates revenue through listing and selling fees and through advertising, boasts about 85 million active users. It also sees gains from its online payments division, composed of PayPal and Bill Me Later, and other e-commerce platforms, including StubHub and Half.com. In 2009 eBay said it will sell a majority stake in its Skype Internet phone service to an investor group.
