Motorola, Nokia "unlock" handsets

Although "unlocked" mobile phones -- which can be used on several wireless networks -- are popular in Asia and Europe, they weren't available in North America until recently. Now that Nokia and Motorola have started selling unlocked handsets, the trend is expected to continue, which may have large implications for phone makers, carriers and customers, industry watchers say.
