Entire $9,000 Bid To Be Donated To New Elementary School In Zambia
CAMARILLO, Calif.-- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Three and a half years ago, Green Pharmaceuticals’ SnoreStop brand generated international coverage after the company won an eBay bid to advertise on entrepreneur Andrew Fischer’s forehead for a month. Marking yet another promotional first, SnoreStop on Friday (July 25) won a bid on eBay to sponsor a runner during November’s New York Marathon who has agreed to be the only known person ever to seriously compete in such an event wearing pajamas.
Specially designed so as to not interfere with a runner’s agility, mobility or health, the pajamas being worn by the 38-year-old Greg Krause will bear the message: I’m In Bed With SnoreStop, a tag line the company will use in various promotional capacities over the months ahead. Despite attire that might inhibit another competitor, however, Krause welcomes the challenge and knows he’ll be running for a worthy cause.
Thanks to Krause’s generosity, SnoreStop’s entire $9,000 bid will be donated to the Macha Innovative Christian School (MICS) in Macha, Zambia, a much-needed elementary school founded by his parents in 2005.
As part of his training for the November 2 New York marathon, Krause (who lives in Chicago) will be clad in SnoreStop pajamas during the Chicago Distance Classic Half Marathon Sunday, August 10; and during the Nike Human Race being run in 25 cities worldwide August 31.
Commented Krause, “Today MICS educates over 60 children and is in the process of adding a boarding home for the many orphaned and abandoned children in the region. Thanks to my parents, many other dedicated people, and now to SnoreStop, the school is helping give these children an opportunity to achieve their maximum potential.”
