Rate for lost or damaged bags on airlines in November is a record low
The Transportation Department reports that airlines lost or damaged 2.64 bags for every 1,000 passengers in November, the lowest rate for any November in the agency's records. Carriers attributed the improved results to better baggage-handling procedures. "Less flight congestion and more time between connecting flights have been contributing factors as well," said Katie Connell, a spokeswoman for Airlines for America.
