October on-time arrival dip reflects Sandy
The dip in on-time arrival averages for October was not as bad as some had expected, thanks to airlines canceling flights in advance of superstorm Sandy rather than delaying them. The average on-time arrival of the largest U.S. carriers dipped to 80%, down from 85.5% in the same month last year.
