Study assesses radiation exposure before kidney transplant
A new study that evaluates exposure to medical imaging ionizing radiation among patients during procedures ahead of kidney transplantation finds that nuclear stress testing accounts for the majority of overall radiation exposure. The research was published in the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology. "The effects of radiation upon malignancy risk and strategies to reduce this radiation exposure warrant further investigation," according to researchers.
