Major movie chains prep for 3-D ads
Digital Cinema Implementation Partners, a joint spinoff of movie chains AMC Entertainment, Cinemark Holdings and Regal Entertainment Group, is installing projection systems with 3-D capabilities in 14,000 theaters in the U.S. and Canada. The technology will allow for 3-D ads, including an inaugural one from National CineMedia, which on April 2 will begin running a spot for Samsung Electronics' launch of the first 3-D LED TV.
