CBO cuts cost estimate for closing Part D coverage gap
The cost to close Medicare's prescription drug coverage gap will be closer to $51 billion, rather than the previously estimated $86 billion, because closing the so-called doughnut hole will lower overall Medicare spending, the Congressional Budget Office said.
