Study: Warmer temperatures lead to more worry over climate change
Researchers have determined that changes in temperature have an impact on the number of people who are worried about climate change. "I had looked at a chart of opinion on climate change and it looked an awful lot like the chart of temperature variability over time; that's what prompted us to study this properly," said Simon Donner, an assistant professor of geography at the University of British Columbia. In particular, a one-degree increase in average temperature was linked to a 9.9% rise in the number of people who said they were concerned about climate change.
