Antibiotics aren't effective for sinus infections, research finds

A study involving 166 patients with sinus infections found that antibiotics are no better than placebo for treating acute sinusitis. Researchers found little difference in symptom improvement between patients on a 10-day course of amoxicillin and those taking a placebo.
