Thousands of cancer deaths in U.S. linked to alcohol
Alcohol is responsible for approximately 3.5% of cancer deaths in the U.S., an estimated 20,000 deaths a year, according to a study to be published in the American Journal of Public Health. On average, each case represented 18 years of lost life, and the greater the alcohol intake, the greater the risk.
