Study: Weight doesn't affect vascular function by age 10
Children who were overweight or obese at age 10 were more likely to have higher mean heart rates and systolic blood pressure than normal-weight peers, according to a study in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. Researchers said that excess weight and obesity during childhood were also linked to wider brachial artery diameter, less arterial stiffness and greater endothelial function.
