Hemodiafiltration may improve kidney patients' survival
Researchers tracked 906 patients with advanced kidney disease for three years and found that those who received hemodiafiltration had a lower mortality rate than those on standard dialysis. Patients on hemodiafiltration had lower rates of death due to infection and heart disease. The study appeared online in the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology.
