Hyperglycemia raises in-hospital mortality risk
A study in Diabetes Care found non-critically ill hospitalized patients who developed hyperglycemia following total parenteral nutrition had more than a fivefold increased risk of in-hospital mortality compared with those with lower blood glucose levels.
