Study links benfluorex to valvular regurgitation in diabetes
Diabetes patients who were on benfluorex treatment showed higher rates of cardiac murmurs and mild left heart valve regurgitation compared with those who did not take the drug, a study in the journal Circulation found. Researchers also observed a higher risk of combined aortic and mitral regurgitation in benfluorex-treated patients.
