New Jersey NP leads creation of three-tiered DNR system

Staff at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, N.J., have created a three-tiered system for dealing with DNR codes. Nurse practitioner Tina Basenese said the palliative care team knew any form they created had to stay in one place on a patient's chart and the care plan had to be clear to providers, staff, patients and families.
