Experts question safety of bioidentical hormones

Celebrities and companies tout bioidentical hormones as safer than hormone replacement therapy for treating menopausal symptoms, but health experts say the products are not FDA approved and can pose risks. Dr. JoAnn Manson, of Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, said "bioidentical" is a marketing term that has no accepted medical meaning.
