Wyeth obtains U.S. approval for Premarin's expanded use

The FDA is allowing Wyeth to market its Premarin cream to treat dyspareunia, or painful sexual intercourse, in postmenopausal women. The approval covers twice-weekly doses of the hormone-replacement drug, which is already sold as a treatment for hot flashes, vaginal dryness and other symptoms of menopause.
