Diabetes guidelines stress universal screening in pregnant women
Guidelines issued by the International Diabetes Federation cover, for the first time, managing diabetes in pregnancy and the use of self-monitoring of blood glucose for Type 2 diabetes patients not treated with insulin. The authors said key messages for practitioners include the importance of universal screening in pregnant women and preconception counseling.
