CDC: Prescription-drug use has increased steadily in the past decade
The number of Americans who have used at least one prescription drug in the past month increased from 43.5% to 48.3% within the past 10 years, a CDC survey found. In the survey period of 2007 and 2008, one of five children and nine of 10 adults were found to have used at least one prescription drug in the previous month. Use of prescription drugs increased with age, and men were less likely than women to take such treatments, the survey revealed.
