Acetaminophen tied to higher asthma risks, analysis shows
Acetaminophen is linked to a higher risk of asthma in children and adults, according to Canadian researchers who analyzed results from 19 clinical trials. The review, prompted by a 2008 study that raised concerns, found people who used acetaminophen were 63% more likely to have asthma and the risk was 47% higher for children who took the drug in the first year of life. The researchers say the study points to an association but not necessarily a cause and effect.
