NPs improve outcomes in community-based cancer care

Nurse practitioners are set to fill the medical care gap caused by a looming provider shortage not only in primary care but also in specialties like community-based oncology practices, nurse practitioner Melanie Maze and nursing educator Dorothy Guccione said in this interview with Medscape. Collaborative NP-oncologist relationships can improve efficiency, care outcomes and patient satisfaction, they said.
