Report: Better health system needed for teenagers
The health care system for teenagers is fragmented and poorly designed, with few medical providers specializing in the comprehensive care needed for this age group, a report from the National Research Council and Institute of Medicine says. Teenagers may fall through the cracks in the U.S. health care system at a time when they begin adopting some of the riskiest behaviors and setting habits that will impact their health in adulthood, experts warn.
