Eastern Iowa sees hike in abuse of ADHD drugs among youths
More youths ages 13 to 24 have been seen recently at eastern Iowa hospitals for abusing drugs prescribed for ADHD, according to the Iowa Poison Control Center. Center Director Linda Kalin says the drugs are being used by young people to get high, lose weight, stay awake and increase mental alertness.
