CDC: Too few girls are getting the HPV vaccine

The CDC reported that the percentage of girls ages 11 and 12 who received the Tdap vaccine increased from 55.6% to 68.7% between 2009 and 2010, while the percentage of those who got the meningococcal vaccine rose from 53.6% to 62.7% during the same period. However, data found that more than half of girls in the age group did not get HPV vaccine, with rates increasing from 44.3% to only 48.7% for one dose, and from 26.7% to 32% for the complete three shots during the same window.
