CSX's on-dock rail operations at the Port of Virginia helped the port achieve a 9.8% increase in container volume last year and a 16.8% increase in overall rail containers, according to the Virginia Port Authority. The growth "shows that our effort to market the deepest shipping channels on the East Coast, an expanding rail network, the modern container terminals that we own and operate, and a commitment to customer service and continual improvement is drawing attention -- and business -- to Virginia," said Rodney Oliver, VPA's interim executive director.
