Louisiana school officials are undecided on Race to the Top

Louisiana school officials have been asked for their input in developing proposals for the state's Race to the Top proposal, but many administrators said they are waiting for the release of official rules for the federal stimulus program aimed at improving low-performing schools before deciding whether to participate. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is encouraging districts to do so, but some superintendents have expressed concerns about the cost of administering Race to the Top programs and what will happen when the funding expires.
