Dow advises Freeport residents to leave home during cleanup

Dow Chemical officials went door-to-door Monday in in a small section of Freeport, La., to advise 65 homeowners they should leave overnight and be prepared for a three- to five-day absence while a nearby pipeline leaking toluene diisocyanate is repaired. "Moving people into a temporary location is an extra precaution," said Gary Hockstra, Dow vice president and Texas Operations site director.
