Obama backs search for environmentally safe ways to tap U.S. oil, gas

President Barack Obama supports finding eco-friendly ways to tap the country's oil and natural gas reserves. "What I think we need to do is increase our domestic-energy production," the president said during a public meeting in New Orleans. It is also important for the U.S. to develop clean energy sources and raise energy efficiency, Obama said, adding he is prepared to take up an energy bill once the health care reform issue is resolved.
