Work will soon begin on a $350 million project to build a new bridge parallel to the existing Route 72 Manahawkin Bay Causeway in New Jersey. Once that bridge is built, the older bridge will undergo a rehab. The first of four major building contracts is being put up for bids today, with work to begin this spring. Construction is expected to be finished in 2020.
