Limited slots still available for 2012 Summer OPI Assessment Workshops

This summer, ACTFL is offering two installments of its popular Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) Assessment Workshop -- one at Mills College ("Middlebury at Mills") in Oakland, CA, July 5-8, and one at Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT, July 19-22. This four-day professional development workshop is designed to introduce language educators to the OPI, the ACTFL rating scale, and the techniques for conducting and rating oral proficiency interviews. Last chance to provide feedback on revised standards

The ACTFL Program Standards for the Preparation of Foreign Language Teachers that were developed in 2002 in collaboration with the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) are now due for revision. Our Teacher Preparation Standards were first developed in 2002, but NCATE has adopted new principles and the ACTFL standards must now align with those new principles. ACTFL is now seeking feedback on the newly revised draft document. Read the document and provide feedback by June 1.
