Senate, House bills may impose lower taxes on device makers
House lawmakers will introduce a health reform bill that may impose $20 billion in excise taxes on medical-device firms from 2013 to 2019, according to House aides. In the Senate, Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., is set to unveil a measure that would impose between $15 billion and $20 billion in taxes over 10 years, according to a source familiar with the bill.
