Analysis: U.S. could reap $41.8B if online gambling were legalized

If a ban on online gaming were overturned, the U.S. could generate $41.8 billion during 10 years, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation. The House could consider such a bill soon, and similar legislation has been introduced in the Senate. Michael Waxman, a spokesman for the Safe and Secure Internet Gambling Initiative, said, "It's only a matter of time before Congress acts and begins allocating the billions in new revenue sitting on the table to one program or another."
