Italcementi is the colossus of roads. The company produces cement, ready-mix concrete, aggregates, and related construction materials through more than two dozen subsidiaries on four continents. European customers dominate sales, but Italcementi also does business in North America (through Essroc), and has seen sales in other markets coming on strong in recent years. Italcementi's cement division accounts for almost two-thirds of total sales and produces some 70 million tons annually; concrete and aggregates account for more than 30%. Its international operations include about 60 cement plants, 15 grinding centers, 130 quarries, and 600 concrete plants. Italmobiliare owns some 59% of Italcementi.
