More than 10,000 transportation projects receive stimulus funds
State agencies have approved 10,041 transportation projects to receive funding from the economic stimulus, Vice President Joe Biden said. Most of the projects are for quick repairs on highways and bridges and for resurfacing. However, larger projects, such as lane construction, also have received funding. Meanwhile, officials in northeast Florida approved a $5 billion transportation plan that includes $777 million in nonroad projects.
