At Vegas airport, the steel is up
Construction of a new $2.4 billion terminal at Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport is ahead of schedule as the steel erector's detailing subcontractors doubled the staff on the project. The 1/2-mile long and 300-foot wide frame is mostly erected and the terminal, set to open in mid-2012, will use 17,000 steel components. The work is expected to be finished six weeks ahead of schedule.
