Contracts should be clear when looking for LEED certification

Contract disputes are expected to increase as more property owners seek certification by the U.S. Green Building Council, industry observers say. However, attorneys say contracts can be drafted to minimize the chances of a dispute. Meanwhile, GBC representatives say they have not seen an increase in disputes at this point, but they note that more buildings may fall short of certification as the process becomes more common.
