Statin therapy with exercise cuts death risk linked to high cholesterol
Middle-age and older patients with dyslipidemia who took statins and exercised regularly to reduce their cholesterol levels had an up to 70% lower risk of dying compared with their least physically fit counterparts on statin therapy, according to a study of more than 10,000 veterans in the U.S. The most physically fit patients had the lowest risk of dying. The study appeared online in The Lancet.
