Cases of advanced breast cancer rise among young women in U.S.
The incidence of metastatic breast cancer among women ages 25 to 39 tripled between 1976 and 2009, increasing by about 2% annually, according to a study in the Journal of the American Medical Association. More research is needed to look into the factors that might be behind the increase, lead investigator Dr. Rebecca Johnson said.
