Experts see uptick in ADHD diagnosis among U.S. children
A study published in JAMA Pediatrics found diagnoses of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder among children increased 24% between 2001 and 2010. According to the data, 5.6% of white children were diagnosed with ADHD, compared with 4.1% of black children, 2.5% of Hispanic children and 1.2% of of Asian/Pacific Islander children. Boys had triple the risk of ADHD compared with girls, researchers said.
