The CMS has issued its final 2014 rule on payment rates and policies for physicians and other clinicians. The rule includes a proposal for reimbursement of care management services beyond office-based visits such as establishment of a care plan, communication between patients and providers, and medication management. The final rule also features provisions on quality programs including the Physician Value-Based Payment Modifier.
