Study: Diet, exercise help prevent diabetes
A 10-year study of overweight people with elevated blood sugar found that those who lost weight through diet and exercise lowered their risk of developing diabetes by at least one-third. "Lifestyle intervention, whether it was given immediately, or later on, was beneficial," one of the researchers said.
