Women may need to do more work to reap exercise benefits
Researchers at the University of Missouri studied obese men and women with type 2 diabetes, and found that women need to exercise at 85% effort to attain the same benefits seen in men who exercise at 65% effort. Although exercise alone was associated with health benefits, women also had to focus on their diets to get similar weight-loss results as men, researchers said. The findings appear in the journal Metabolism.
