3 cancer screenings get Consumers Union's recommendation
The Consumers Union recommended just three of 11 cancer screenings, for colon, breast and cervical cancers, in the March edition of Consumer Reports. Researchers, who based recommendations on U.S. Preventive Services Task Force data and other evidence, and said most people do not need to be tested for bladder, lung, oral, ovarian, prostate, pancreatic, skin or testicular cancers and that screening can lead to unnecessary additional testing or treatment.
