Interstate is the nation's largest independent hotel operator, managing more than 200 hotels in about 35 US states and Washington, D.C., and internationally in Canada, Belgium, Ireland, Mexico, and Russia. Its property portfolio boasts more than 45,000 rooms and includes locations affiliated with about 30 different hotel chains. Among its brands are Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton, Westin, Radisson, Doubletree, and Wyndham. Interstate also manages properties for some 15 independent hotels, and wholly-owns about 10 properties. Interstate was formed in 1998 as a spinoff of CapStar Hotel Company.
